Happy Easter 2020! I hope everyone has a peaceful day.
Since I'm currently unable to obtain a nice picture for this holiday blog post, here's one from the archives instead. I took it at University last spring. They have always had such amazing flowerbeds - especially in the spring. You can really smell the flower, and makes the experience of going into University that much more peaceful.
In terms of my plans on here, I've got a number of interesting posts coming up. I discovered a wonderfully easy way to measure the maximum RAM usage of a process in Bash which I've blogged about, and I've finally got all my ducks in a row and powered up my Raspberry Pi cluster for the first time - so expect regular blog posts about my progress configuring that!
Also, I compressed the above image with mozjpeg, a JPEG encoder for the web by Mozilla. Since I couldn't find a command-line tool for it and can't be bothered to implement one for just a single picture, I used this website to compress it.
Happy new year! Sorry this post is a bit late - I was busily putting the above together after my last post on browserify. Anyway, I hope that you have a peaceful and awesome new year :-)
If you look up into the sky tonight, what do you see? Hopefully something more-or-less like my latest demo (just more detailed :P). As you can see in the above picture, this time, I've created a canvas animation of a starry sky. The stars even rotate and twinkle, and are slightly dimmer near the bottom-centre of the screen.
Happy (belated) Christmas! I hope you have a great Christmas holiday. I was going to have a small something ready for yesterday, but I haven't managed to get it ready in time, so it'll be for new year instead :-)
This is just a short post to wish you a very Happy Easter!
I don't have anything to show you this easter (mainly because University ACWs have been taking up all my time :() - hopefully I'll get around to building something for next easter :)
I wanted to write this post to wish you a very happy new year! I also wanted to thank you for being a part of the first full calendar year for which this website has been live. Out of curiosity, I counted the number of posts I've made on here this year, and the total came to 104, which works out to roughly 1 post every 3½ days.
In this new year I'll be continuing my learning Prolog series, and probably posting a bit about networking and 3D stuff, since I'll be taking a module in each of these areas.
This is just a small short post to wish you all a very happy and restful Christmas. I was going to announce a new demo, but I underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete and I don't feel too well :( Rest assured though that I will finish it and have it up soon.
Rob Miles sold these unique 3D printed tags generated by a python program for red nose day for £1 each. I bought 4. If you had a tag that was identical to a picture that he showed on the board in his Lecture in Rhyme (which was great by the way), then you won either a Remote control Car or a Robot. Needless to say I didn't win, but I did have a great time :)
I am back - I got distracted so I don't have any new demos for you yet. In the last (half) year, I have set up a website (with the help of Mythdael) and started this blog. Currently my posts are rather Javascript / CSS heavy, but I plan on releasing some more C♯ related posts soon. I have a few more sorting algorithms I must learn for University, so what better way to do so than to implement them in C♯?
Very soon I will also release I few snippets of code I am writing for Blow Worm.
In other news, I have been adding to Pepperminty Wiki. You can now have administrator accounts, which can move and delete pages. Futher plans can be found on the project's readme.
